Donkey kong amiibo
TLDR: he's not as strong as the other amiibo but he's still fun to play with/against. Regardless, I'd recommend you grab him when you get a chance, I heard he's getting rarer and amiibo are incredibly fun to train and fight. Him being weak could stem from me not playing DK often so your mileage may vary in terms of how strong he gets but my other amiibo don't really show that as much as DK does. If I reset him again I will try to fight him only on the stage and see how he learns when his weakness isn't exploited. He would still lose in fights and would even struggle with a lvl 9 DK (I think he only won because of his buffs). This time I trained him 1v1 all the way to 50 (with me playing as DK for most of it) and then I introduced him to other fighters. At level 50 he would get some pretty good spikes and land some nice kills while staying alive well above 200% but he didn't seem as capable as the other amiibo I've trained. DK was always the first to die and Samus reached 50 while DK was still 34.
DONKEY KONG AMIIBO FREE
The first time I trained him, I did a 4 man free for all with me as random, a lvl 50 Kirby and a brand new Samus. I reset him once and I am thinking about doing it again. It doesn't seem to learn that regardless of the number of times he falls for it. The only problem is that DK's recovery isn't that great so he doesn't have much of a chance at air dodging and coming back while below the stage. I like to try to spike my amiibo as much as possible so they've learned to air dodge right before I hit them with a spike and it works for them most of the time.

He does decent for himself on the stage but he really falls flat when he needs to recover. I've found him to be my weakest amiibo so far. Thus far my results have been pretty good. Then once they hit level 40-45 I start letting my good level 50 Amiibos playing against the new one. And then I use Pac-Man to aerial chasing, more trap and projectile work at varying speeds. DONKEY KONG AMIIBO MAC
I use Little Mac to teach the Amiboo some great CQC skills.
DONKEY KONG AMIIBO HOW TO
For example I use Iggy to teach the Amiibo how to deal with traps, lots of projectiles, and how to engage at a distance.

Then I switch over to my mains to give it different experiences and approaches to different play styles. Personally I stick to three stock no platforms 1v1 matches with the same character as the Amiibo until they can beat me. If you play Donkey Kong well then your Donkey Kong Amiibo will have a great example to learn from and it will only make it a better Amiibo in the end.

So now I've also got Little Mac up to 50 and doing the same with Diddy Kong as we speak though now I'm letting my really good Amiibos help train the new ones once I get them to the point where they can beat me. I'm lucky if I can get in a single stock in a three stock match against them. When I got Fox and Samus I 1v1'd them to level 50 and they are outstandingly good. Once they hit level 50 they weren't that good and would even lose to level 9 CPUs. I'm going through the process of re-leveling my Amiibos because the first time around I let them train themselves in four way battles and would jump in to whoop up on them every now and then.
